HDR Experiment by TakeMeToAnotherPlace HDR Experiment by TakeMeToAnotherPlace
My first attempt at HDR. The shots came out okay, albeit a little blurry due to how windy it was up there, but the processing... Definitely something I've not got the hang of yet. Oh well, I decided to put up my first real attempt at HDR, shot last week, to see what people think.

Anyway... Enjoy!

If we'd have views like that and if I'd know how the take pictures like that. I'm jealous.

It's absolutely stunning.

I really love this shot, the dark, low clouds, the rusty wind swept grass, the rolling hills, the distant horizon. It's like a dream - a faraway place.
And of course you have included your trusty powerlines. Stunning shot, and scenery. I don't see much wrong with it, and you'll only get better as you go :)

This is an excellent job for your first real attempt at HDR, my first is much in the same vein. Wind is a problem when it comes to these shots, I've had a few shots ruined by excessive wind myself. The focus on the grass in the foreground helps draw the eyes away from the motion blurred grass around it and focuses the eye to look down the depth of the scene to the world below. Despite this, I can see areas that I am sure you are not happy with and I have no doubts that your next efforts will be more refined and much more to your own liking.

Here is my first serious HDR attempt: [link]

Thank you kindly,

some of my areas of concern.

1. The green fields halfway down the shot on the right hand side, varying lighting, too dark at the top, I could correct this in photoshop I think with some dodging, I may try.

2. The grass is excessively blurry and over the top HDR style, not much I can do about that now unfortunately.

3. I feel like the horizon is off a little, it's odd.

I agree with your concerns, are you processing this through Photoshop or are you using a tool like Photomatix? The horizon does look a bit strange, is it actually crooked or just an effect due to clouds?
